PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF AQUA CAN SENSE ANYTHING FROM YOUR CHARACTER. think of a jedi's ability to sense good and evil in the force. aqua can sense darkness/evil (hate, rage, jealousy, etc) in people most strongly, though she can sense strong light to some degree as well, and the darkness manifests as a very wrong feeling. most people will have a mix of darkness and light and might lean a little one way or the other, but that won't make aqua's senses go off. if i don't get an answer here, i will default to no.
EXAMPLE: in cinderella's world (several disney canons exist as worlds in kh-universe), cinderella is a person of pure goodness and purity of heart. she registers as purely light. her stepmother and stepsisters register as pure darkness because of their all-consuming jealousy of her and the horrible way they've always treated her.

when in doubt, please ask me! for things like mindreading / empathic reading / etc, if your narration mentions the power being used, i will offer in my return narration what i am comfortable with your character sensing. as for shipping or anything romantic, i prefer a relationship being built from the ground up, slow burn style. i don't go in with a ship in mind, but i am not opposed to one happening naturally over time. MY PERSONAL HARD NO'S are cannibalism, body horror, anything to do with the brain-eating part of zombies (i mentally file this under cannibalism, so double no), suicide/self-harm, and rape/non-con. i prefer to have warning if a thread strays towards suicide or self-harm mentions, but i can still handle threads that just mention them. | |

Darkness sense: It's possible she'd sense a little darkness in him, but the light'd be much more significant. He's from an exceptionally harsh place that's very often kill-or-be-killed, and while he's had to do that on quite a few occasions, he still tries to resolve things non-lethally when he sees that as a possibility and just plain gives a shit about other people. He's also very slow to anger, but when he does get angry it's a scary thing.

Darkness sense: Mira has no innate defenses against psychic powers, but I'm canon-blind on KH so I'm not sure what Aqua will get off her--she's brave, selfless, and cares about people, but she was also raised in a hugely repressive, xenophobic culture that's in a state of constant war. Her sense of right and wrong was formed in a brutal, kill-or-be-killed universe, and what she considers normal is horrifying by most people's standards. Let me know if you want more or need me to clarify anything!

Darkness sense: All that Aqua will really be able to sense from Sharon is darkness, though there's certainly some hint of light under it all. She tries to be a good person but her circumstances and the horrors inflicted upon her have made her quick to anger and incredibly vengeance driven. All her abilities are depicted with black shadows and she's shown to literally bring in the darkness to affect and alter reality. She's not inherently an evil character but the acts she's committed, even against those who very much deserved it, are beyond cruel and hateful.

Darkness sense: I'm good with this! Cissie is usually good, but she does have a jealousy problem sometimes, usually concerning her friends and loved ones (they are hers, thanks), and she gets very angry when they are hurt, and definitely has dark thoughts when it comes to the people or things responsible for said hurt friends. So... YOU KNOW. Mostly normal. Until someone gets hurt. ;)

Darkness sense: Fairly normal? Stronger light when he's doing the hero thing. Squall's more light than he thinks he is (friendship, love, protector). His darkness leans towards self-doubt and fear of abandonment. Probably typical hero/savior of the world fare.

Darkness sense: Lots of light!! Billy's main darkness comes from his own insecurity and self-doubt, with very minor twinges of jealousy, but overall he's a literal magical light so!! If she can also sense potential, Billy's basically gonna rewrite the laws of magic one day so he might feel like a source.

Darkness sense: Very, very light. At her lowest point, she made a conscious decision to reject the dark side of the Force. She's not nice in the Disney sense (even light side Jedi end up with a hell of a body count, ahem) but she is good. She's also the most powerful Force user until Anakin Skywalker rolled in, so that light is extremely bright. She's gotten in the habit of damping it down so as not to give away her presence to her enemies, but it flares up when she's actively using the Force.
Her past is dark side, but she doesn't remember it, so it's not likely to show psychically unless she gets her memories back.

Darkness sense: About a quarter light. I originally thought half and half (because in a KH sense, half of him is darkness- KH2 does a nice job of pointing that out), but his pessimism about other people from FF7 will probably dampen a lot of his own light. I imagine a quarter of him is light, a quarter of him is (his own) darkness, and half of him is a darkness that feels extra-wrong. Hope that helps!

Darkness sense: Y, Crawford is tainted by the creatures he saw from his machine. He's not 100% human anymore, but with the darkness around him there is also light he fights to keep his humanity and stay the person he was. So while there is darkness all around him its not as bad as it could be. If that makes sense.

She's v v competitive, jelly, mean- but she also cares a lot (hidden under a lot of aggression and anger l o l) and has a soft spot for vulnerable people (plus they're a great excuse for more violence 'I was helping keep that kid safe :I') She's probably grey at this canon point???

Darkness sense: Mmm this is complicated, I would say he'd come off as a grey more than a direct darkness, at least clear of mind. He doesn't aim to be bad or let the monster he's become control him, he wants to help people. However, when he loses control it's akin to pure darkness. Something like a beast side even if there is no seperate entity to him. Life is simply grey with him. A once good man forced to do bad things to survive.
I am cool with all things mind reading and empathic.

Darkness sense: Yeah, I'm definitely OK with Aqua sensing things! Connor's probably pretty neutral, like we were saying - but it also just occurred to me that he might also feel like a bit of a blank slate to begin with, since he only broke out of his machine programming like a day ago and is just developing now into a fully realised person (he already mostly was, but...complicated). I don't know if you want to do anything with that at all, but it's there!

Darkness sense: Alex herself is pretty light, but she's got a lot of darkness around her if it makes sense? Like she's had some (probable) contact with demons and demonic energy and the like, but she's fighting it? In canon, one of the characters believes she's supposed to help save the world so I don't know how that translates!

Darkness sense: Wanda is at half power in Dualis however, Aqua will get a sense of that power. It won't be light or dark because it is the power from the Mind Stone which is neither good or bad. So neutral but like, raw power that has yet to grow into good or bad. And it won't take anything for her to sense that much. Anything else I'll make sure to put in tags so you know from moment to moment should it come up.

Darkness sense: Yes; and he's a mixture of regret and guilt, but there's also a massive sort of cyst of darkness inside him that might seem separate from him, and that seems to have a sort of barrier around it that locks it in place.

Darkness sense: Y; though it's kind of complicated? I'd say despite having been in a massively dark place in the past, at this point in his life he's fairly neutral and might teeter over one or the other depending on the circumstances. He's made peace with his regret and guilt but it's still there, though he has been seeking atonement and while he died believing he got it he's probably going to seek for more opportunities to keep it up, if that helps?

Darkness sense: Yes! Despite how friendly and upbeat she is, there's a lot of darkness in her. She's got a lot of regret and guilt balled up inside of her for accidentally helping to cause a mini-end of the world scenario. Aside from that she's gone through a lot and is VERY willing to go to extremes and her extremes could be considered a little messed up. Like when one of the FreakAngels did some really messed up things to his girlfriend she sensed it and made him feel five seconds of an overdose that killed her and then said she'd trap him there for even longer if he ever did something like that again.

Darkness sense: Yes. Overall Jane would read as more dark than light because of her mental health issues and the pain she's gone through. She's not evil, but she is depressed, angry, and sometimes self-destructive. However certain personalities might read as more light or dark and I can point that out as necessary in tags.

Darkness sense: Uhh I would say he's rather light! Used to have issues and some deep-seated hatred/anger stemming from grief, but he's gotten over it for the most part, and he's more positive than anything. I'm not sure if she would be able to tell that he's not exactly human? Comes off well as a human and still functions (and dies) like one, but was the dream of magical people brought into reality. Up to you!

Darkness sense: The balance of light and dark in Kyoko's heart is pretty even, I think, so that likely wouldn't stand out too much, but her heart is notably strong despite having an ordinary mix.
wrt soul gems meeting KH heart/body/soul mechanics, Kyoko's soul gem definitely counts as both her heart and soul. If she has it out in its true form and is waving it around, that's going to be more obvious than if it's in its ring form or even when she's transformed into her magical girl form (since her soul gem sits on her collarbone).
